It is highly debatable if trump or mongo have the slightest conscious awareness of what's actually true, particularly as it applies to their responsibility for anything that happens, good or bad. If it is good, it is to their credit even if they did nothing to achieve it. If it is bad, it is someone else's fault even if that person had no responsibility for it.

They simply cannot see themselves in any light that does not elevate & flatter or excuse them of blame for everything that happens to or around them as a result of their behavior.

I didn't know WHO it was, just that it was definitely NOT mongo. I have no experience with Fubar or whatever his old name was so couldn't guess who it actually was, just who it absolutely was not.

Too many stylistic differences even if beliefs are similar. 

Few people can so radically change who they are when they speak or post, even if they decide to take radically different sides in an argument with themselves. Certain parts of their behavior, favorite targets, lingo, and style - if you will - simply don't ring true and those things scream out to someone who actually pays close attention to those things. We recognize things that cause us to look harder and then we usually find it. Or we notice things so different that we just know it's not someone actually familiar.

It won't convince anyone not looking as hard, but eventually the truth will out.
