The actor is playing a part in a mini-series. If being white or black is INTEGRAL to telling the story, well fine, pitch a fit over it, but their skin color is NOT integral to the story so WHO FLIPPIN' CARES?

SES's post that you'd responded to was.  He just about quoted a section of my post directly above his response.  I included it to show you that HE was dissing ME (and likely Bean and SJW (Mugwump)), but absolutely dissing ME as the one who couldn't fathom why anyone would be so passionate over the casting or Achilles, pro OR con.  I think that all it does is increase negative focus on race. 

Of COURSE your opinion matters.  I didn't suggest it didn't... at least not intentionally if you took something as suggesting that.  I was upset that you AGREED with his diss of me, NOT your opinion.

It is good to do all we can to level the playing field after centuries of mistreatment. Frankly, so is flipping out over it. All that has happened is MORE FOCUS ON RACE instead of less.

It's a FICTIONAL CHARACTER people. Who cares SO MUCH that they are willing to FIGHT over it.

It deserves no more than an eye roll and a great big sigh.

If you care about racism, do something more substantial that will improve race relations & equality and LESS ceremonial nonsense that only riles up the eternal battles over race.

Those who are flipping out over the whole thing also need to get a clue and stop making it MORE about race and just get over it already!

There are far more important things to fret over than wasting time and emotional energy over an artistically choice for a FICTIONAL CHARACTER!
