Hilariously, my facetious comments about his alleged alma mater, Vanderbilt, impelled him to post a list indicating that it was the 13th best school in America, with at least 5 Ivy League schools ranked as superior. This is about what my post had indicated, so thanks for that, I guess.
Suggested new addition to the fruit salad of links and decor atop White Whine: Black and Gold banner, massive lettering: ‘We’re Number 13!!’ lol

Well, I didn't jump when he tried to drag me into his childish next attack on greenman by adding an extra insult directed at me. I couldn't care less what he thinks about where I may have gone to college. I don't know why he cares what greenman said about Vanderbilt either.
Some serious insecurity on full display with that.

‘But…but mine’s RANKED HIGHER!’ lol
I went to a land-grant state University and I’m good with that. Did I awe everyone with my academic brilliance? No. It took me more than four years, and I had to come back from adversity to graduate with a decent GPA.
I earned a B.A., and I’m proud of it. Others have done better because they were brighter or more driven to succeed. Kudos to them.
I’m not as insecure, I guess.

As an aside, college rankings vary considerably depending on whose list you're looking at. This makes sense, as their ranking criteria vary. The US News & World Report Mondo used differs from, for example, the Forbes list. If I were playing up my alma mater (Columbia) over Vanderbilt, I'd pick the latter list over the former. A Vandy grad might do the opposite!
Those lists are useful, but only if you dig a bit deeper and pick the list with selection criteria that corresponds with your own priorities. Moreover, it should be kept in mind that for a motivated student, a very good education can be had at just about any accredited college.
Offline
Agreed both with ratings, and the possibility of getting a good education in many places. Is Ohio State academically on a par with Columbia, or Vanderbilt? No. But it IS a big University with lots of resources and lots of opportunities in many, many fields.
And at a reasonable price, that’s something to consider these days.
Offline
Where you come from, where you studied etc is no guarantor or guarantee.
What you do is more important. Your alma mater, what ever it is, is best
measured by you and what you do.

But it looks good on paper (lol) and of course must be forced into any conversation where a person wants to assert intelligence or show off their money.
I am a huge advocate for apprenticeships and community colleges. Apprenticeships are hands-on, and focused on many necessary jobs like electrician. Community colleges (IMO) afford a better slice of life for a student. I know many people who go into college having no idea about the "real world" having been protected by parental hovering. The major leage schools aren't quite in tune with the outer world (I think).

Absolutely, Trish. Where we used to live in the area of Newark, OH there is a very good community college which offers everything from nursing and teaching and child care to HVAC and utilities work, culinary arts and car repair. And the community can interact with these programs - a day care, a restaurant/cafe, a beauty shop, a car repair place employ supervised students. These days, given the cost and return on college, it’s a very effective alternative.
Practical education is increasingly important in America - and can lead to higher earning power, too.

You can make your alma mater look great, or like a worthless diploma mill factory.
I agree on value of apprenticeships and community colleges. "Education" pushed
the academic college degree too hard, too long, with the threat of limited lifetime
income potential if students didn't pursue one. We desperately need trades, and
their contribution is not inferior to academic degreed citizens. Snub the snobs and
measure value by helping people. If your happiness comes only from what you earn,
then you are a pitiful person. Your financial reward should be comfortable, to
encourage you to give more- another mistake "education" made. But the measure
and envy by amassed fortune well beyond what any individual needs or can spend
even in a lifetime is a misplaced value. There is no excuse for Bezoses, Musks,
Waltons, Kochs, Buffetts, Anschutzes, and other misers. Bill Gates owns an entire
Hawaiian island, and all the charitable giving he does doesn't justify that. These
people are envied by lesser tycoons and liars like the Trumps, and for example,
some of the R&E trump lovers and defenders who likewise covet money and measure
contribution to humanity by wealth.

Jill Biden is not who should be representing America abroad.
Where was crooked, sleepy, pervy Joe? [read the end of your own post, senile old man!]
Holed up in his basement hiding classified documents that he stole while he was a senator?
For anyone who doesn't like my post regarding tacky, tasteless Jill, "That’s “doctor” to you ... ya know, all those years in med school and residency mean something."
[Every bit as much as your doctorate, assuming you have one]
Instead of representing the colors of the United States or Britain in honor of us or the occasion, she and her grandaughter chose to make an inappropriate, roguish political statement by representing the colors of Ukraine.
We shouldn’t be ‘representing’ the British monarchy we broke from 250 years ago, you Tory slug]
Jill Biden's Political Statement at Coronation Condemned: 'Hate America'
Story by Andrew Stanton • Yesterday 11:37 AM [Lies by pro-Trump Nazis with whom Mongo Flatulento identifies]
Conservatives raged on social media over first lady Jill Biden's political message at King Charles III's coronation on Saturday.
Biden and her granddaughter Finnegan Biden wore coordinated yellow and blue dresses to the coronation ceremony, representing the flag of Ukraine. The move was viewed as a sign of solidarity with the Eastern European country, which for more than a year has been fighting off an invasion from Russia.
The Biden administration, like many other world leaders, has supported Ukraine, supplying the war-torn country with billions of dollars in weaponry and condemning Russian President Vladimir Putin over the conflict, which they say was unprovoked.
Chatter on Twitter ensued about Biden's look at the historic coronation, with the first lady receiving praise and criticisms over the decision to show support for Ukraine.
Right-wing critics of the Biden administration condemned the look, saying that the first lady should have instead worn colors representing the United States.
"Jill Biden was disrespectful to the United States and her office of First Lady by wearing the colors of the Ukraine flag with her granddaughter instead of representing our flag and our nation," tweeted Jenna Ellis, an ex-attorney for former President Donald Trump. "First Lady Melania would have been pure elegance and patriotism."
[Jenna Ellis the idiot traitor]
In a separate tweet, Ellis wrote, "America's First Lady represents Ukraine instead of America while in the UK. The Democrats hate America."
Jill Biden was disrespectful to the United States and her office of First Lady by wearing the colors of the Ukraine flag with her granddaughter instead of representing our flag and our nation.
First Lady Melania would have been pure elegance and patriotism.
[Pure Eurowhorishness]
Lavern Spicer, a Florida congressional candidate, tweeted: "Jill Biden is not who should be representing America abroad."
Others, however, came to the first lady's defense, praising her for showing support for Ukraine and calling out her critics.
The first lady served as the main representation of the U.S. at the ceremony, as President Joe Biden did not attend. Biden announced that he would not be appearing at the coronation in April, with experts previously telling Newsweek his absence should not be interpreted as a slight against King Charles III, as no U.S. president has attended the coronation of a British monarch since the country's formation.

Apparently old man Mongo didn’t

So both DFM and mongo deliberately violated DNRs with Sir Real because they are SO special and figure that they can do whatever they please on R&E. Go figure. Disgraceful behavior. There’s no board he doesn’t try to drag down to his level. First attack and provoke; then run and hide behind a DNR or (on his own boards) a banning.
It speaks for itself, actually.

tRUMP himself woulda shown up too, looking for attention. U.S. presidents have NEVER attended UK coronations personally. They always send representatives. Just because the last time was during Eisenhower's admin doesn't change that FACT.
I saw nothing wrong with their choice of clothing. The UK supports Ukraine too. It wasn't an "in your face" thing. It was just a symbolic gesture of support. I rather doubt that the Brits were offended.

Some people can do no right.
Doesn't matter who they are.
Some can do no wrong.
Likewise, doesn't matter.
Rules are for other people.
Likewise laws.
They commit the fact, and don't even beg forgiveness after.
Go figure.
Republicans are still looking for something criminal about Biden to justify impeachment.
One after another says about the Bidens, "Some of what they did SHOULD be illegal!"
They made the debt ceiling, debt, deficit and spending their issue again.
Doesn't matter Biden's budgets reduced the deficit from the $4.5 trillion trump left,
to $1.3 trillion. The debt when Trump took office was $19.6 trillion.
When he left office it was $30 trillion. It is now $31.7 trillion.
Do the math and apply the spending.
Then you may hear this GOP whining like me.
I thought the matter about copyright was settled.
The issue isn't copyright, but the unethical theft of somebody's words,
and then weaponization of them for use against disliked people.
An ethical, moral, repentent man would not do that.
