Yesterday, Alvin Bragg filed a motion, I believe either before the judge hearing the E Jean Carroll case, or the judge scheduled to hear the Trump criminal case later this year, that resulted in a stern warning to Trump's lawyers to better advise and control their client from taking Discovery material and weaponizing it and posting it on social media with commentary in effort to perhaps reach jury ears and intimidate prosecutors and witnesses. Trump has a long history of doing this. 

In a similar way, material from our discussion here is apparently finding its way elsewhere and used for another purpose than the original intent. Sadly it appears to reinforce an obsession with us and content of this board. 

I consider this board something of an executive session, with intent to keep identified historical problems and abuse from becoming dominant activity on the threaded Civilized General Discussion board. While participation is limited to a registered membership, primarily to prevent the almost dailly clean up activity necessary before registration was an option, the fact that non participant readers can not only access this board as a read only option, but then critically and plagiaristically use this specific content elsewhere may justify some real executive session discussion on how to stop random public access to this content altogether. 

Removing this board from his gaze might be a good thing. 

He will suspect he’s still being discussed, but would both be unable to prove it and unable to repost it continually on other boards in a cheap plea for sympathy.

It would also go a long way toward answering his whiny demand that Back Alley be eliminated (which he doesn’t have any right to demand anyway).

Vanderbilt University held its annual online “Giving Day” yesterday.

It raised over $15 million.

Here’s what I find somewhat obscene:

$7.2 million to athletics

$2.9 million to Arts and Sciences

Only $21 thousand Blair School of Music

This is not totally indicative of the values of the University.

It is largely an indication of the misguided values of the DONORS.

Sports over Culture? Yup. You got it. It’s not just Vandy. It’s everywhere. College football coaches at Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State make $5 million or more per year. Alabama coach makes about $10 million. Far more than professors or even chancellors.

Nashville wants to mortgage our future with a new $2.3 billion covered NFL stadium. There’s nothing wrong with our open-air stadium. Hell, Green Bay has been playing in the frozen tundra in their open-air stadium a lot longer, and they are usually a lot better team than the Titans.

But, WTF, my words are in vain. American values and culture are in precipitous decline. We got it from the Romans. They preferred sports over the performing arts, especially feeding Christians to lions, which we see figuratively to this day.

To the victor belongs the spoils.

Music, Theater and Ballet are doomed to get only table scraps left over the next day from lavish sports banquets.

Could not agree more.  I went to Ohio State, and while it offered a multitude of academic pursuits, it IS  unquestionably a football school.  And I don’t like to see athletics hogging the lion’s share of money for academics. 

This is truly obscene.

PS - Ryan Day’s total coaching compensation with his latest extension is more like $9.5 million.  Ugh.

PPS- Browns are spending to redo Cleveland Stadium and have discussed building a NEW, indoor stadium.  Aarrrgh.

Am I a hypocrite? Yes. 
For a long time now I stood down and silent, watching people I knew for years; good people 
disparaged and thrown under a bus with sarcastic names and brands, attacking them and
this board in continuation of habits developed over many years and multiple boards. 

I chose to not get involved, and to stay silent, saying nothing with the hope that just maybe
it would pass and maybe die or reconcile. It hurt me to watch you relentlessly disparaged,
and it didn't stop. Not to mention a certain other community has been a sounding board
reciprocal of Back Alley since these boards were established, and before that it was 
everywhere. We'd check in in the morning to find a bunch of messes made with intent to
disrupt the board because to do so was fun, and we could neither stop it, or control it. 

Abuse databases had and have significant exemplary material which my lawyer discovered
and secured for use in the civil libel case. None of that material was tossed due to the
possibility of insincere action and play. We have 136 pages of evidence, and the ongoing
disparagement of others since our agreement to cease hostilities might be evidence that
games were played, and nothing really changed. The attorney said to expect that.  

Fwiw, SJW, aka Mugwump is a Curtis graduate and product, and likely a better musician
than me in his performance area. Why isn't he given his due like I was? 

I asked for all this destructive infighting to stop. There is plenty blame and hypocrisy to
go around and then some. It isn't limited to one, or even two, but to a decent handful.
That includes me. 

It’s getting boring saying all the same things over and over again.  I have a morbid tendency to read other boards’ posts when I know I’ll see comments - and commentators -  I  will dislike.  I’ll try to avoid doing that so much.

Poppet does a good job of getting along with most others, most of the time, and I should follow her good example.  I really do get bored with these dust ups.

contemptuous, it is astoundingly ignorant. Only the very best of the very best
study at Curtis. It was my first choice of schools, but their composition program was
tabled until they found the quality instructor they needed. That was Ned Rorem, and by
that time I was not eligible to study due to Curtis age requirements. I am not sure I
would have qualified, age not withstanding. 

Taking my words for use in attacking you, or anyone, renewing attack toward me,
and reposting them anywhere on social media, and that is clearly provable by the time
stamps of posting, all of which is material and evidence added to the massive file,
demonstrates cause not to trust anything the man says or posts anywhere. 
I don't know what he has exactly, but it isn't respect. 

The fact this is an obscure little social media board compared with larger, more successful
media doesn't excuse either the trolling behavior, or cross of line into actionable libel. 
Boardhost has TOS, but moderation depends on real person moderators, not AI or 
algorithms. The habit and tendency of this individual to name call and invent what he
believes are clever uses of language, "Farcebook" "PMSNBC" are misogynistic,
misanthropic, and contempt. In attachment to real, actionable libel, these expressions are
additional tangible evidence. They are also forbidden on AI and algorithmicly monitored
social media, and such posts are "sent for review," where they usually just die. Posters
attempting to publish this material may be censored and accounts banned from where they are
practically unable to return under another alias or IP number. Iow, this abuse isn't tolerated
or allowed at all on other social media because it may expose the host company to civil
damages too.

The fact we're here again is sad beyond words. Sad, and angry.

I'm really sorry Pikes.  In spite of pretty much knowing it was going to end this way, I'd hoped, for your sake, that there was at least SOME kind of honesty coming from him regarding his claimed respect for you.  It is abundantly obvious that it was all just a ruse, like ALL of his "relationships" on these boards.

You can bet your bottom dollar that there is NO ONE he HONESTLY sees as a valuable person worthy of respect given what his values so obviously are.

EVERYTHING revolves around him. Absolutely EVERYTHING. If someone disappoints or annoys him, they immediately get put into the ATTACK COLUMN.  Anything goes once there.  He'll get as vicious as he possibly can and will make up the ugliest things about them.  Let something change and he'll immediately praise them beyond reason with nary an explanation nor apology for his previous trashing. 

As you know, I personally caught him using proxies and sock puppets to attack his supposed "friends", including myself, Poppet, and others, all the while pretending to like us.  It wasn't difficult given that we used to have access to IP addresses that could be matched up to one another, especially using the old "abuse database" where there was NO DOUBT that it was him.  No doubt at all.

THAT is who he is to EVERYONE. Real life or cyberland. 

The cruelty he dished out to me on Facebook, using my dead brother's picture and a boatload of fake names to send me and my innocent family "friend requests" with his picture was the END of me thinking that there was something of value in him, down deep maybe, if it could only be found.  I was wrong.  There ISN'T.

muqwump has sought me out and harassed me without provocation repeatedly over the past several months. I don’t care if he/she went to Curtis or Abiline State … makes no difference to me. Same abrasive tune. No harmony there.

Trish is no friend of mine either. She is 100% aligned with my detractors, all of whom are DNRed on this board … might as well add her to the bunch. All she ever does here is call me out in defense of her would-be friends. She is still welcome to post on my boards, FWIW.

The rudeness on this board is over the top, unlike any other legitimate board. Maybe these DNRs will serve to cut it by 50% or more.

OMG, he has NO IDEA what's coming next for him as far as a requested DNR against HIM!! Be prepared for an EXPLOSION when it arrives.

My opinion? Get rid of HIM and the rudeness will drop dramatically! Take his little dog out with him! He currently has 6 DNRs. One I got against him, one Sir Real got against him***, and 4 he requested against others before these 2 requests. These would make 8 DNRs. The one coming will make 9 DNRs. No one has had more than 8 before and THAT was HIM.
