Re: New discussion thread for "grousing about" and letting off steam

Well, thanks, I guess.  History repeats itself, and I’m stuck with a DNR whether I want one or not.

Oh well.  It’s not like I’ll miss talking to the idiot.

Re: New discussion thread for "grousing about" and letting off steam

If he was asking for one, that’s his business -  and a matter for Ken to decide.  Seems odd that a guy who was CONSTANTLY, almost obsessively posting to everything I put on the board would ask for a DNR; but then he doesn’t like to have his little conspiracy lectures derided or interrupted.  Luckily there are plenty of others willing to do that!

The only thing that annoyed me is that I was in effect blamed equally with him, and that’s absurdly unfair.  But that’s in the nature of DNRs.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense, but rest assured, DNRs don't imply blame, equal or not.  Sometimes people just don't mesh and have to be forcibly separated.

Everyone can see for themselves who did what and when. Don't worry about it.  Just don't violate it, THEN there WILL be blame attached.

Jus' sayin'

Here’s an example of what I was saying about being singled out:

Re: New discussion thread for "grousing about" and letting off steam

KR's vulgar posts get deleted or edited whenever they are reported. Those who do report stuff apparently didn't see it?  If it's still there when I get home from PT and my biweekly infusion, I will report it.  Or you could?

This is a prime example of someone hiding violations inside a post so it is regularly missed.

Re: New discussion thread for "grousing about" and letting off steam

There is something wrong with the forum search feature.  Sometimes I search for a word like "GFY", and the search feature does not show posts that contain the word.

Also both GOG and greenman don't email me to report problems.  Instead of emailing me, they post things like this:

I’ve actually e-mailed you several times, Ken. The problem is you almost never ANSWER me.

Don’t try to evade responsibility for the failures of moderation you’re so famous for.

Also: can you answer my question, Ken. Is profanity only a problem if I do it, or do the same rules apply to others?

Re: New discussion thread for "grousing about" and letting off steam

Profanity directed at posters is not allowed,  Sometimes people put the profanity inside a post, so I don't notice and don't delete it.

Today I noticed a problem with the search feature.  Sometimes the search box does not work when I search for a word like "GFY".  That makes it harder to find and delete the profanity.

Re: New discussion thread for "grousing about" and letting off steam

Which is why LINKS as just as important as the text when sending in a report.  I always include both so that Ken or Trish can read what's inside of the link to decide while reading the email if it warrants deletion, editing, or warnings.  That saves them time since they have so little of it.

I also include links to the questionable post, and refrain from frequent "report" knowing Ken and Trish have limited time. The board is their R&R, not their thankless, unpaid job.

The fact is GOG is running out of people who will converse with him. Greenman, he did with you exactly what he does with everyone driven to seek a DNR for relief.  He also refuses to follow the directions and email concerns with Ken and Trish. They showed extraordinary patience and tolerance in dealing with him. If they choose the path of registration, that will be a last ditch effort to control what defies control. No doubt criticisms will show up in the places and from those who have problems with registration, because it stopt their abuse and trolling in its tracks. They have only themselves to blame for registration of this site, and if R&E follows that practice, GOG will be one of the main trolls responsible for that movement.

Very true.  The search function works okay for subject lines but is very sketchy with internal contents.

People should ALWAYS include links else their reports will often go without being addressed because it's so difficult to find things with only the search function.  One caveat, if the subject title is included, it can be used to search... Just for future reference.

Guess he still can’t decide whether he desperately wanted a DNR against me or just passively permitted one, then tried to blame it on ‘snobs.’  Hysterical..

I sent both in as DNR violations before seeing your original post about his DNR violation against Mugwump here,

If they aren't reported, he'll just get worse about his violations and push the edges further.
