Actually, it was a direct answer to Gustav, however, apparently only to the inside where he suggested Pikes get the car fixed and move on. 

You responded along the lines of "Oh, Pikes never woulda thought of that" inside.  Apparently not thinking about the subject title and how it might look.  No biggie since that wasn't your intent.  I was just confused, but thanks to your explanation, now I'm not.
 

Imo, Ken and Trish must have phenomenal patience. We are all more or less stuck in a revolving door around the same questions, topics, misinformation, conspiracy theories and what all, either asking, answering, replying, responding... and have been doing so for years. The exact same cast of people don't get along, won't get along, make almost no effort to get along, to the point it really resembles some kind of mental illness.

People have credentials for a REASON: does it make them infallible?  No. Does it make them informed people in a field, who have a certain expertise?  Yes, it should.  If you summarily dismiss their findings and opinions, you don’t really want to know what’s going on in that field, you’re just setting them up for attacks. Like GOG does.  ‘Only skeptics know anything, mainstream scientific knowledge is worthless’ is a stupid notion.

As to adjustment of data, I already gave him a perfectly good example of that being a legitimate thing - the adjustment of Carbon-14 dating of ancient objects using tree-ring data (dendrochronology).  Archaeologists and Paleontologists noticed discrepancies in those methods which eventually led to the more accurate tree-ring data being used to re-calibrate the whole range on ancient dates obtained through C-14. Turns out the further back you went, the wronger the ‘data’ actually were.

Apparently DFM would have us believe these folks were just corrupt scientists ‘cooking the books,’ perhaps to score some personal political point or obtain funding, and that we should’ve kept the INACCURATE data and determined our entire understanding of the past based on it, instead.

For a self-appointed ‘scientist’ who claims to respect the Scientific Method, he’s quite a fool.  Thus his reliance on YouTube videos for his information these days, I suppose..
