Russia hunted for Clinton emails 5 hours after tRUMP asked them to

the mueller report
Russia hunted for Clinton's emails 5 hours after Trump asked it to, and 3 other Mueller findings about Russia

 4:57 p.m.

 It wasn't all about obstruction.

In the redacted version of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report released Thursday, there were also plenty of findings about what sparked this whole extravaganza: Russian election interference. Here are four of them, from the terrifying to the downright comical.

 1. A previous Mueller indictment showed that when then-candidate Donald Trump called on Russia to find his opponent Hillary Clinton's "missing" emails in July 2016, they were listening. This full report shows that the GRU, Russia's foreign intelligence agency, took less than five hours to start targeting email accounts within Clinton's personal office after Trump asked Russia to "find those 30,000 emails."

 2. Mueller took the time to spell out this whole dilemma, in which former White House staffer Hope Hicks was unsure of how to verify if an email actually came from Russian President Vladimir Putin, and in which Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner forgot the Russian ambassador's name and also how to use Google.

3. The GRU has a "bitcoin mining operation to secure bitcoins used to purchase computer infrastructure used in hacking operations," the report found — an idea the U.S. could perhaps borrow to cut the deficit.

 4. A Russian troll farm known as the Internet Research Agency deployed thousands of posts across social media in the U.S. It also did this pretty weird thing, per Mueller's report.

Verified account @katherinemillerKatherine Miller tweet:

I know no one cares about Part I (about the Russian campaign), but: "The IRA also... recruited individuals to perform political acts (such as walking around New York City dressed up as Santa Claus with a Trump mask)"

The scale and sophistication of the operation was and probably still is remarkable.

Find the whole report here, and another Russian tidbit about the infamous pee tapes here.

Re: Russia hunted for Clinton emails 5 hours after tRUMP asked them to

Many of us remember a time when if any American candidate made such a plea to Russia, his career and campaign would have been over within hours, and that was long before internet.
Many Trumpeons are so poorly informed about the old USSR and Cold War, they have the modern players they disparage with labels of "commie," "communist," "socialist," etc. exactly backward.

Astounded that Trump and his supporters STILL act as if Trump's request was a joke, and that they therefore cannot be held responsible for the rapid and effective Russian response - like saying 'Beetlejuice!' three times and then, when he shows up, claiming it was a joke and acting amazed that he was standing there.

Makes me want to ask them whether they're that stupid, or if they think WE are.

I totally agree.  There was NO "joke" in that remark.  How anyone can buy that when they SEE it bewilders me, especially given that they DID IT on command.

Combined with all of the other distributions of negative Hillary propaganda all conveniently timed to take attention away from tRUMP's goofs.

It's just SO OBVIOUS, but tRUMPists just refuse to see it.

Re: Russia hunted for Clinton emails 5 hours after tRUMP asked them to

By talking to children about his wall on Easter, Trump proved several speculations;

  • Children are smarter than his base.
  • Smart children won't listen to him either.
  • Children are more likely to believe in the Easter Bunny than they are likely to believe anything Trump says.

I missed that.  I was watching The Voice.  I'll see if I can find it to see what you're talking about.  Unless you have access to a video of it?
